RVs Have Always Been Cool [Video]

Posted by Panterra Coach at 12:18 pm in Blog, Events | Comments Off on RVs Have Always Been Cool [Video]

On this blog, we talk a lot about the rise in popularity of the recreational vehicle in America and with good reason. At Panterra, we love Prevost Conversions and RVs in general, but media and general opinion are catching up with this love and expressing a bit of their own. Forbes, arguably the nation’s premier business publication, recently published an article and forecast recreational vehicles in 2014. The forecast is, well, a stellar one. In the article, “Surge In Recreational Vehicle Sales Expected To Continue In 2014,” Joann Muller of Forbes.com writes, “Higher consumer confidence and an improved economy should spur continued strong sales of motor homes and other recreational vehicles in 2014, according to an industry trade group.” This is great news. The average American is clearly clamoring for some of that open road, brash sun and the opportunity to see this lush land open up like a red, white and blue flower before their very eyes. Considering the economy is improving, if slowly, people want to get back to implementing their dreams and life goals. Oftentimes this involves an RV. The head of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, Richard Coon, says, “Consumer confidence is growing, credit is available, and RVs are visible, popular and even cool. This is a good time to be in the RV business.” While much has been said about the economy as being a main cause of the RV’s revival, it is interesting that Coon brings up the idea of “cool.” This may even have a greater impact than a healthier economy when it comes to RVs, as it makes people WANT to drive an RV or similar kind of vehicle. It’s all about image, what inspires people to buy certain products, so if you have a well-received image, an effective brand, consumers will flock to it. The RV’s brand is on the upswing. It is cool. The surge in cool comes at a great time, as Panterra will be part of The Prevost-Stuff Coach Show in Tampa Bay on January 13 and 14 at the Tampa Convention Center in Downtown Tampa. The show will help demonstrate why the RV’s popularity is on the rise. Come and experience the cool!...

This Thanksgiving, Be Thankful for the RV

This Thanksgiving, Be Thankful for the RV

If there were a 2013 buzz worthy or viral RV of the Year Award, honoring an RV that brought attention to the community, lifestyle and appeal of the recreational vehicle, the RV that has made the greatest cultural impact, the award would undoubtedly have to go to the RV from the hit TV show and cultural behemoth, Breaking Bad. While the RV industry does not want to be associated with cooking methamphetamine or drugs in general (doesn’t go good for the image, you know?), thankfully, that’s not what Walter White’s RV represents. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, Walter White in the 1st season (our “protagonist”) was living a very unfulfilling life as a high school chemistry teacher. Walt possessed none of the freedom that many associate with America. He was emasculated by work and family and hung out to dry by the nation’s healthcare system when he was diagnosed with cancer. Not only that, but he had no control of his emotions, forced to pack anger, sadness and rage in boxes in the basement of his brain. Out of sight, out of mind. It’s impossible to maintain any level of happiness when you live like that. Simply put, Walt White was unhappy. So, what does he do? Well, he purchases a recreational vehicle and although it’s for the purpose of cooking meth to pay medical bills and to leave something for his family when he dies, the RV is ultimately associated with freedom, with that almost prehistoric idea of Manifest Destiny, as it is always seemingly situated in the Chihuahuan Desert. The open, blue sky is the backdrop. By purchasing the RV, Walt’s life opens up, for good and for worse, but it has opened up and that’s the important part. He is enjoying, for the first time in his life, that sweet, savory taste of freedom. It’s clear to see that the RV represents freedom, the act of taking control of your life, hitting that open road and creating your own destiny. The RV from Breaking Bad has become so popular that it has become a big attraction at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. People from all over the country flock to the studios to see the RV that opened up Walt’s life. Clearly, these tourists are craving that sweet, savory taste of freedom. Perhaps being in the presence of the Breaking Bad RV will stir up feelings of adventure and freedom! That’s the strength of the recreational vehicle. Whether you’re a fan of Breaking Bad or not, one thing is clear: the recreational vehicle is a symbol of freedom, and this Thanksgiving, we should all be thankful that the RV has maintained that indomitable spirit of America! Panterra sure...

In January, Prevost Conversions Taking Over Tampa Bay

Posted by Panterra Coach at 12:57 pm in Blog, Events | Comments Off on In January, Prevost Conversions Taking Over Tampa Bay

With each day that passes, it seems that the Prevost Community is getting stronger and stronger. As we head into 2014, it’s clear that the community has never been stronger. Building on 2013’s momentum, Panterra is proud to be part of The Prevost-Stuff Coach Show in Tampa Bay. The event will take place January 13 and 14 at the Tampa Convention Center in Downtown Tampa. The show is going to be a big one, as there will be dozens of dealers and allied vendors, and if you’re a buyer, seller or Prevost enthusiast, you don’t want to miss it! You can find the registration information here. If you pre-register, you’ll receive show updates and a chance to win a $50 fuel card. An event like this shows you that RV culture, especially the Prevost Community, is growing! America’s RV culture is certainly on the upswing, with many people embracing the RV for a variety of reasons. In New York City, for example, some are using secondhand RVs as a way of living in nice neighborhoods rent-free. In the article, In New York, RVs are one answer to soaring rents,” Andrew Tangel of the LA Times writes, “By turning to mobile apartments, RV dwellers are something of real estate pioneers in New York. RVs give New Yorkers a way into hip or exclusive neighborhoods they otherwise might not be able to afford. They don’t have to worry about nagging landlords, rent hikes or upstairs neighbors tap-dancing at midnight. That is, well, somewhat ingenious. It is the best of both worlds, as you are provided with the amenities of a great neighborhood, but none of the pricey pitfalls of having an apartment. There of course comes the question of electricity and heat, but for many, this is a fine tradeoff. For a packed city like NYC, living in your RV may be the best option. The city is constantly taking in more people. It however isn’t getting physically larger, and yet rents have never been higher. In one New Yorker’s words, “All the yuppies came in and that changed everything.” RVs might be able to solve this problem. What are your thoughts? The RV community is growing. Keep in touch with the Panterra website; we will buy your RV, paying top dollar for all Prevost Conversions. The U.S. Economy and the Recreational Vehicle

The U.S. Economy and the Recreational Vehicle

When times are good, you tend to see RVs everywhere – on the road, in driveways etc. That is because people are retiring and wanting to experience their golden years traveling the country’s roads in the Americana comfort of a recreational vehicle. When times are good, many Americans aren’t shackled to long hours at jobs they don’t necessarily like, so they have time to fulfill that explorer urge and rediscover the country. China is experiencing such a situation. We’ll admit it – the American economy hasn’t been the greatest, far from it, but the country seems poised for a turnaround, as indicated by this New York Times article, which may mean a resurgence in RVs. Nelson D. Schwartz writes, “Bolstered by inventory investments and a narrowing trade deficit, the American economy grew more quickly than had been expected in the third quarter.” This is good news for the country as a whole. There is reason for optimism, as this growth came as a surprise. While inventories rose quickly, financial analysts remain cautious and expect that the government shutdown (from Oct. 1 to Oct. 17) will have a negative effect on numbers going forward. Regardless of future numbers, Americans should feel optimistic. The housing sector, for example, had nice gains in the third quarter. The thing about economic predictions is that they change on a daily basis, so it’s hard to have a grip on them. With that said, any growth is good growth. The more Americans are comfortable with their finances and job situations, the more likely they are to relax. In a culture of relaxation and growth, the recreational vehicle is king. The Prevost Community is a strong one. It’ll take more than a fluctuating economy to knock it off its feet. As evidenced by the Prevost Community Annual Rally KOA in Branson, MO, the community is growing at a great rate. More Prevost events are being planned for the future, so keep in touch with the Panterra website and remember – we will buy your RV, paying top dollar for all Prevost...

Exploring America with RVs

Posted by Panterra Coach at 12:53 pm in Blog, Places | Comments Off on Exploring America with RVs

Exploration is in America’s lifeblood, hammered into it like a dozen screws. America was “founded” by explorers. Throughout the centuries, the country has thrived on the dependable backs of explorers and pioneers. Explorers were pack mules carrying American dreams from coast to coast, ocean to ocean. Over the centuries, there have been many kinds of explorers. RVs, in particular, were responsible for the re-exploration of the country in the 50s and 60s. By exploring, we’re referring to physical exploration, the act of stepping into an unfamiliar land. Again, take the RV. Because of it, the average America was able to immerse him- or herself in new lands, such as National Parks. The RV gave birth to the cross-country trip on America’s scenic highways – an All-American tradition! Through cross-country trips, families bonded of course, but perhaps more important than that is these trips fostered an appreciation for the land – admiration for the landmarks, the greenery and the open spaces. Well, fast forward forty years to today and we are faced with a land that most people think they’re familiar with. Due to the Internet, we are a technologically closer society. This can cause the average American to be overconfident when it comes to knowledge of this country. It seems that people don’t talk much about cruising America’s highways. Although we may be technologically closer, we are emotionally miles apart. We’re not connected with physical America. This must change, especially if we want to be a healthier, more ecofriendly nation. We must turn to our old friend, the RV, and explore exploration again. Panterra Coach wants to help YOU explore exploration again and if you’re ready to move onto a new RV, we will buy your RV, paying top dollar for all Prevost Conversions. We will happily pick up and deliver, no matter the location. If interested, contact us today! Let’s explore this beautiful country...

The Prevost Community is Growing

Posted by Panterra Coach at 9:57 am in Blog, Events, Places | Comments Off on The Prevost Community is Growing

In the last post, we discussed how China is experiencing a surge in RV popularity. The Chinese see the RV as a powerful symbol of freedom and hope. Opinions toward RVs in that country closely resemble the opinions many Americans held in the 1950s and 60s. The popularity of RVs can be directly linked to two things: the increase of a country’s presence on the global scale and the growth of a middle class, two things that China is presently experiencing. We guess you can tell a lot about a country’s strength and happiness level just by looking at RV sales. And that brings us to the good ole U S of A… Surely it’s an understatement to say that the situation in America is complicated; it’s, well, a downright mess. Between the government shutdown and lackluster economy, not many have had the time to reflect on the freedom and hope that the RV symbolizes. That, however, seems to be changing, as the RV industry is experiencing a boost in sales, with companies like Winnebago Industries Inc. and Thor Industries Inc. making profits this past quarter. This suggests that the American economy as a whole is s improving, if slowly. In the article, “Winnebago’s profit rises, driven by rebounding RV demand,” James B. Kelleher of Reuters.com writes, “During a conference call to discuss the results, Potts [Winnebago’s CEO] said the rebound in consumer and dealer confidence was creating “a great environment for growth” and he was upbeat about the outlook for the coming year.” That is good news, not just for Winnebago Industries Inc., but also for the entire industry across the board. If the recent Prevost Rally in Branson, MO is any indication, Americans are once again craving that open road and an RV lifestyle. From October 14-19, the Prevost Community held a successful rally, with seminars, good food, wonderful entertainment and show coaches. RV aficionados spent time with Prevost, the Converters and display Coaches. Over the course of the rally, seminars were given by Jim Shepherd, Prevost and others, regarding topics such as fire safety. There were also Q & A sessions, not to mention wine and cheese tastings! A wonderful time was had by all. The Prevost community has never been stronger and is further proof that the RV industry is “a great environment for growth.” Let’s continue to help this environment grow! Panterra Coach is currently looking to buy your RV and will pay top dollar for all Prevost Conversions. We will happily pick up and deliver, no matter the location. If interested, contact us today! The R.V. is a Symbol of Freedom

The R.V. is a Symbol of Freedom

As of this writing, the government shutdown is still in effect. Regardless of its duration, the shutdown has had a disastrous effect on the American psyche. For many Americans, faith in the system – political leaders, lawmakers, the rhetoric etc. – is at an all-time low, with some even doubting the entire democratic process as well as freedom itself. In times of democratic duress, we should always turn to those timeless symbols of the American Dream as means of coping. The R.V. is something you CAN depend on.   The R.V. has long been a symbol of freedom. Chances are that when you think of the open road, the smell of the American West or the way the sun can cradle a National Park, you will inevitably think of the recreational vehicle. It is freedom, friends, family and fun all rolled into one. In a way, it is the American vehicle and represents the possibility of this great land. Now it seems that the R.V., as both vehicle and symbol, is catching on in other countries around the world, such as China. *** In the article, “Chinese Embracing the Perceived Freedom of R.V.’s,” Andrew Jacobs of the Sinosphere (the China blog of the New York Times) writes, Distributors of European- and American-made campers say their products are selling out as soon as they hit the showroom floor. In August, at the third annual R.V. exhibition in Beijing, more than 500 vehicles were purchased during the four-day event, with an average sale price 300,000 renminibi, or $50,000. Industry analysts predict that sales will reach 800,000 within a decade. We can confidently say that the Chinese R.V. market is booming. The Chinese are in love with the R.V. and those truly obsessed snatch up any product they can get their hands on. For them, the R.V. represents freedom and dreams, just like it did for Americans in the 50s and 60s. These men and women use the R.V. as a means to get out of cramped cities like Beijing; rumbling along some highway in an R.V., away from the crowded hustle and bustle, young Chinese professionals can de-stress and relax their minds a bit. As China grows, it stands within reason that the R.V. industry will grow alongside it. Although at the present time, it does not seem like there are any Prevost in China. *** You might be wondering, “Why are they talking about the Chinese R.V. market?” Well, as a company that specializes in R.V. remodeling and prevost sales, Panterra Coach has a vested interest in the global R.V. market. A surge in R.V. popularity in one country usually leads to a similar surge in other countries. Although we are the main source of affordable prevost coaches in Indiana, we are more than willing to develop a custom R.V. design that fits a person’s needs and tastes, no matter where he or she lives. Panterra Coach is currently looking to buy your R.V. We are paying top dollar for all Prevost Conversions. This includes Marathon, Angola, Liberty, Royale, Ventare, Featherlight and Millennium Luxury Coaches, not to mention old and new Newell Coaches. It does not matter where you’re located in the U.S., we will happily pick up and deliver. If interested, contact us today!
